[CATV] spectrum 101-t technicolor

Anyone get a slow response when changing channels?

- used several remotes
- works okay for a few seconds
- then hit channel number and it does nothing for 5-6 seconds. If you hit the channel button 5 times when waiting for it to change channel it will skip the first 4 presses and go right to the 5th channel up
-enter in a channel number on the guide and hit okay it will freeze for 5 seconds then go to the channel

is this just a box problem or can it be something else?

I wish they would have the arris worldbox 2 and the new remote by now. If they do they probably still only give it to new customers.

They newer remote is on ebay but are china auctions.

Or just give you a DCX3600 and call it a day.

How are the signals on the box though and to the channels you've experienced this with?

Slow guide doesn't mean bad box, but could be due to poor signals to the box. Have you tried the box on other outlets in the house? Are other boxes in the house doing the same thing.

Only asking because you didn't state it. Have you done a reboot of the stb lately? Does it impact this behavior after you do so?

The batteries in the remotes are new?

Looks like you may need your cablr outlets balanced. Your modem shouldn't be that different signalwise from your cable box.

yeah I have unneeded splitters hooked up from when used to use more than 1 tv upstairs. Cables were run through a closet so would have to buy a longer coax cable to have it go directly to cablebox.

I could probably get the -4 to -6 to 0 but removing 1 splitter and I also have another splitter that has 1 spot too many.

Since it's working fine now,
When i get rid of phone Ill fix that stuff

Is your box on a split from a split? Perhaps it should be better for you to have the line split at the demarc, with one going to the modem, then the other going to an amp with multiple outputs for TV. And if the amp would cause the signals to be too hot, then maybe you could use taps as well.

yeah.

The thing is , when I get rid of phone modem the cable for tv can go right on the amp instead of the extra splitter after it.
