AH yes. I've seen that before. I heard it was good.
It hasn't been updated since 2011. wow! That's not to say it's garbage or doesn't work. ...just wow is all.

Because it's free and it works, why update? It's not like those commercial software developers who compete with each other for your money that need to keep updating their wares. Brings to mind the old adage - if it isn't broken why fix it?

I still use PS CS2 as it serves my needs just fine. And I get to keep all the money that most others will spend upgrading to bigger, better, faster even if they don't need it

I have you beat...I'm still using Photoshop 7 and while I do have PS/CS6 (purchased when I was told that I'd not be able to install or get Photoshop 7 to work in Windows 7/Pro/64bit which proved to be an inaccurate statement), it's still shelfware that I've not gotten around to installing because 7 still works well for me...'-}}

We all fall victim to marketing hype at some time or another. PS7 is what I started with and used it for years before I upgraded to CS2, and that too when it was offered for free by Microsoft, once the cloud version was released.

Indeed!

I used to get the new version of Photoshop (I started with version 4) pretty much as soon as it came out UNTIL Adobe instituted their stupid activation crap which just really pissed me off and I stopped upgrading because, really, I don't appreciate being called a thief and a liar which is essentially what Adobe was doing.

Adobe's Creative Cloud is, for me, just crap--anyone else wants to use it, hey...go right ahead...

Well I'm just saying, technology changes and improves. No it's not broken. And since it's working, that's great. But these modern times most certainly have improvements in this field where this software could be upgraded to and take advantage of and still be free of charge. Even if they upgraded it to the tech of 2016, it would be an improvement that could only be beneficial to those who use it. They could upgrade it to something with improvements and also keep the older version available for people to download and use. Where is the harm in that?
