Hah, it looks terrible to me... the hair, really. Which is odd because it's the same as the current day batwoman but for some reason it looks good when it's drawn.
ROFL! Why would you think it's a porno parody? Sh'e snot scantily clad or provocative looking in the least bit.
Short version: Her name, her face, her acting ability, her general demeanor. She basically comes off as a pornstar, so I figured she finally accepted where her "acting destiny" lies.
I haven't read a Batwoman comic but I did see her in the DC animated movie "Batman: Bad Blood". She is a bit out of step with the typical Batman, Robin, Batgirl modus operandi in that she uses firearms,......liberally,....
As we all know, Batman doesn't use guns, instead relying on a great deal of skill.
LoL. Is it possible not to hear her voice saying the rule?
NO CAPES!
Batwoman reminds me more of Huntress than the traditional bat-family. So much so that I'm not sure why they needed another one, but my exposure to her character is limited so I might be completely wrong. Ruby Rose was in Orange is the New Black and The Meg, and she didn't talk a whole lot in either.
What order of the shows does the Elseworlds crossover even go in?
and when do they start? I need to catch up on everything but Flash (actually dont think I finished Arrow and Supergirl last season as they were boring me and annoying me respectively )

I stopped watching all of them except Supergirl, but when they started on the whole "alien rights" plot for this season, I killed that one too.
These are shows that would do very very well in a 13 episode season, with 22+ there is too much meandering off to plots that have nothing to do with the main one.

I hate to say that I don't watch any of them anymore either. They held my interest for a few seasons each but not enough to keep up with them.

For me it was piss poor plot lines, the meandering ,Flash spent more time going after Iris then being Flash, and just getting plain bored.
Like EQ said there is so much good stuff out there, no need to focus on these shows. Granted I will give the crossover a go to see BW appeals to me. But if its the same o same o.. it will last less then 1 season.
Yep. From what I heard, Steve Amell and Grant Gustin have swapped identities, Tyler Hoechlin is back as Superman with Lois Lane by his side... and John Wesley Shipp back as Flash. LOTS to love!
Wow,hopefully this doesn't dissolve into another gay lovefest.
1st episode was pretty corney.
Not sure what you mean here but Batwoman AKA Katherine Kane is a DC character that has been around for about ~13 years now going on 14. It is my understanding that the character's sexual orientation was established from the start if not early in the inception phase.
So it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone tuning into the Batwomen series unless they didn't know anything about the character to begin with.
Generally speaking though, I think the CW has done a horrible job depicting DC characters on the small screen. Arrow was a caricature of Green Arrow and so too was the Flash. Supergirl wasn't any better (despite it not originally being on the CW). Legends of Tomorrow was the most palatable IMO but that isn't saying much. I don't expect much from Batwoman but that has nothing to do with her gender or orientation but rather that the CW has a knack for creating garbage out of gold,......IMO.
Now, it would be easy to say that DC characters are just behind the 8 ball but that IMO isn't true.
The first season of "Titans" was fairly good IMO and what I have seen of "Doom Patrol" so far has been very positive. Very positive indeed. The animated DC projects are mostly entertaining for me too as well as the live action movies.
I usually stay away from these, since the characters they are based on or come from have been around since the '40s, so they all get old pretty quickly no matter what they do.
I don't have an issue with the LGTBBQ thing, but she is just too small and wimpy to go down the path they started with. There is just no way that she is going to be able to intimidate anyone with that re-tailored bat suit, which is kinda the whole purpose. The 6'/200lb + guys normally in these kinds of roles routinely get their ass whooped, so she better be changing course and powering up with some serious weaponry and a different armored exosuit pretty quick. The pilot might just be the setup for something like that, but right now it looks like she is getting CWed.
I have zero intentions of watching this outside of the crossover events, primarily for the reasons stated above. I have no interest in the aforementioned "gay lovefest" if they're making her orientation a 'thing' and I was entirely unimpressed with her acting and her character in the DC crossover episode she was last featured in, and overall it just doesn't appeal to me.
Batman appeals to me because he's Batman... I mean there's so much there, from the dark knight detective when the writers go that character route, or the ass kicking vigilante, and his daytime playboy lifestyle. Everything about him is a solid story.
Her first appearance came across as riding on the coattails of a bigger story. Supergirl as well. At least with Flash and Arrow they have their own story.
Why can't they do a female DC story where it's just a regular chick who has her own story? Sure, Wonder Woman is big screen and Starfire is already taken, but they totally could / should have done this with the Huntress. Then they'd have the Gotham city background and a great backstory that involves the mafia, spies, and a family that was murdered. I'd totally watch that.
... or what about Power Girl (Earth-2 Kara), instead of riding on the coattails of the Superman story?
... or what about Raven, or Stargirl, or Cyclone, or Kate Spencer, or, heck, Vixen... they already started an entry point for her own show, what happened to that spinoff?
