[RI] Going to help a pal...

They have Cox voice, internet and cable with a Cox supplied modem/router- maybe a Plantronic, not sure. I am going over to hook up an Orbi router so their wireless is good throughout their home.
Do I need to shut off the wireless part of Cox's router? If so, how do I do it?
Thanks!

If they have a gateway already I'd suggest trying to set the Orbi up as an access point only if its supported.

It seems to be possible. See instructions in link below.

Thanks!
Can I keep the same wireless name or use a different name?

I would suggest using a slightly different name vs the same as the current one. Make sure it is on a different channel as well. Only the ones that are designed for Wi-Fi ap roaming will work correctly with the same ssid
