Re: Lucky Me, Free Upgrade to 100/100

It looks like you are comparing fios intro rates to cox standard rates. But still if both were intro, fios is still cheaper and symmetrical in speeds with NO CAP.

I think I already told you, but Cox retention tried to tell me that their internet price includes 24/7 tech support and that you must pay extra on verizon. I did see the option to purchase techsure or whatever verizon calls it, but I have no need. So Cox's inability to remove that feature could be a reason their prices are higher on paper. But maybe Cox will feel the competition in my zip and adjust prices accordingly.

Intro? Thought those where fios m2m (month 2 month no contract rates )

And compared 2 Cox no contract rates

But yea I doubt Cox will drop prices cause they have monolopy I'm some area s like pungo, va and Norfolk va (no fios due 2 politics)

I can tell you my 100/100 fios is only $40 for year one, then up to $55 in month 13. The other $50 discount on the bill has no expiration, but the base price is 105 that they are starting with.

I mean I'm glad they are offering it even at $55 in the somewhat long term, since that is still less than the intro price of 100/10 cox, which is $60. Cox would have to offer it at $47.50 for 24 months to match fios.

I only think you will price drops in places without a monopoly. Sadly that is a few and far between. that being said did you see this article about a "regional ring" of fiber? that might be a start to some municipal ISP action in the long run.

I saw that article or something similar a while ago
I thought it was just an fiber line . Not a separate ISP

It's in VB by the geico building

Oh it is just a main fiber line. But I was thinking if the separate cities all cooperate we could see more cooperation in the way of a municipal ISP. but that's just a hope and a dream. don't do anything to grow this place or make it flourish.
