<description><![CDATA[CyberMac posted : I've had success with factory reset of the STB.  In several cases it fixed random wireless LAN disconnects, unexplained Start TV app crashes, and other random weird issues.  Settled the STB right down and made for a better viewing experience.   That said, it's not perfect but far better than it was.]]></description>

No disrespect to Start, they do a great job on service and responsiveness, but I have to be honest and say the STB is junk.  I have had nothing but problems with it: rebooting, lag, audio issues, memory problems. etc.  With all due respect, I believe this experience is more typical than atypical.  I think they need to get a better box or just let us get our own box instead of renting this one.  I'm now paying for this box and I don't use it at all anymore.  Still not sure I understand why we need this box though?  is this a regulatory thing?]]></description>

So I'm not fond of paying $10/mo to rent a box that's going to sit unused.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Canuck posted : GF just messaged me to let me know that TV isn't working again.<br><br>App was asking for username/password again for some reason. Each time she tried to enter the password, it was timing out before it would let her finish (Application Load Timeout - Start TV services are not responding. If the problem persists, contact your service provider.)<br><br>She plugged in a keyboard and was finally able to type it in before it timed out.<br><br>But now no channels are working - just a black screen with Error 4-44-123 on every single channel again.<br><br>This is getting tiresome...<br><br>Does anyone at Start have a chart or document that explains the different error codes the platform throws? Getting really tired of wasting time troubleshooting on our end, only to find out the error is caused by something on Start's side.]]></description>
