Has Bell rolled out FTTH in your neighbourhood? If so, then perhaps load is being shifted to that, for Bell's own customers of course.

Oh, I don't doubt the quality of it. I doubt the usefulness of it and find the load it might put on the network a bit wasteful. My main point was that if each customer did a speedtest every half hour imagine what would happen, especially if they were all synchronized with a cron job. Smokeping-type plots might be just as useful for measuring congestion with a lot less load on the network.

To the best of my knowledge, all indy ISP DSL traffic in Ontario and Quebec is carried by Bell to 151 Front in Toronto. And, all indy ISP rCable traffic is carried by Rogers to Don Mills and York Mills in Toronto.

Of course it has been a few years since the indy ISPs have confirmed thorough details about this stuff. I assume this is because there's nothing to talk about if nothing has changed, but I do worry that it is in part because of the abhorrent non-disclosure culture we live in.

As for Ian D Allen's testing.. Just go dig through his posting history, it's all there. As far as I can see, his data is very high quality.
