To follow up, I did call them back and ordered. At least in this area the door to door sales people were 3rd party but also worked in the Frontier office itself.

I also asked if they could provision the Verizon ONT 612 at my house until the updated ONT is installed a week from now. It is left over from when I switched to Spectrum a couple years ago. We'll see how that goes.
