[Other] Brave Browser.Been reading on a different site about the newer Brave browser. They say Brendon Eich who invented JavaScript and was co-founder of Firefox is the developer. I see it good for both Windows and mac. They say it's much faster than Firefox, Edge or Chrome and popups are pretty much a thing of the past with it with no extra add-ons. Thinking about downloading and testing it on my Windows laptop and just wondering about it. |

Brave is just another Chromium based browser. |

Thank you. Looks interesting so will give it a try and see if what they say about is true. Can always use faster and I hate popups. |

OP's post history shows they only post in the Comcast forums, so that's probably why. |

Didn't know where else to post the question and if it's anything connected with the internet this forum gives the best answers. |

He's a nice guy, and a great asset to the forum, so I don't see any issues with it, it is internet related, and we all have Xfinity internet (I assume), so... 😉😎 |

I guarantee you, nothing like this mistake will ever happen again. Had no idea it was violating site rules. Have been registered here for 15 years guess I should have known. Cheers. |

I switched to it a few months ago. It's a huge, huge improvement over stock Chrome, though I prefer even more stuff to be blocked and so I also install Ghostery. As stated it's Chromium based and all Chrome plug-ins work in it. Once the bullshit "Manifest V3" crap is pushed into mainline Chrome it's also going to be one of only a small number of browsers which support proper ad/tracker-blocking plug-ins such as Ghostery, ABP, etc. |

No offense but if folks were looking for info or help on Brave browser, do you think they'd look on the XFINITY forum? No, but any topic can garner enough activity to show up on the home page 3-column list of active topics.
As Google takes over control of ad-blocking and restricting extensions by API one of the first casualties may be Ublock Origin. At some point, any Chromium-based browser may be forced to fork completely, just as PaleMoon forked from Firefox. |

I've been using Brave on my mobile phone instead of Chrome, because Chrome seems to be quite happy to gobble up my data cap downloading ads in the background at my expense. |

My personal experience has been that Brave is a good alternative to Chrome, although there have been a very few sites that I can't get it to work correctly with, such as parts of » digital.alight.com/clien ··· searchsg (which is a medical website). |

Are you saying that it doesn't work in Brave, but it does in Chrome? |

There was an interesting side-thread discussion about Brave in the Security forum the other day--about 6-7 posts down from the original post: » What happens when you launch a fresh install of Firefox? |
