The company, hard to say, I can see a "Pixel Watch" in the future, but you are paying for more then just the tech in the company, you are paying for the name. Fitbit is a well known name, it would be foolish to kill the brand.

So for all intents and purposed HTC is dead for US, which is what I said. Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? Because I don't get your point of linking a HTC US site and then saying what I just quoted.

They publicly said they were giving up in the US market and you can't blame them.. I am surprised LG has not called it quits yet.

Hence my RIP fitbit comment. So far Google took 2 solid manufacturers like Moto and HTC that really needed marketing muscle behind great products, drained them and we now have Pixel, a line that's always behind all other flagships, questionable build quality and the only claim to fame is updates, which everyone is getting inline with anyways. I'm still waiting for Google to kill Pixel claiming that it's not a total fail, but served its purpose of scaring everyone into streamlining updates.

Like what? The butthurt over Spo2? Here is a general rule for everyone, don't buy products based on "future feature releases" and you'll have a happy life. I believe Samsung customers are still trying to figure out what happened to blood pressure monitoring.

If anything where Fitbit pissed off a lot of people is with introduction of "Premium" services by gimping free features, but realistically that was inevitable for a single product company (fitness tracker, number of models is irrelevant).

RIP fitbit, undoubtedly Google will turn it to shit by trying to rip out fitbit features into their shitty wearos / google fit, instead of using Fitbit for their core competency and building on top of that.

uteck posted : I heard there was some copyright stuff going on with Google's Fit app and Fitbit claiming it was too similar to their name. Instead of settling Google bought them.

I use Fit app for activity tracking, but I don't wear watches as do a lot of people. My wife just got the new Fitbit last month and likes it, so she is hoping Google does not f-up the next firmware update like Android 10 did to most phones.
