Packet Loss Issue? But other test still good.

I have a new cable connection and am curious as to my packet-loss problem. My connection speed seems to be pretty good considering the comments I see elsewhere, but I want to make sure that everything is as it should be. Here are the answers to the eleven questions, let me know what suggestions you have:

1. »monitor.dslreports.com/t ··· a=normal

2. 2002-05-10 23:31:08 EST: 3068 / 248
Your download speed : 3068335 bps, or 3068 kbps.
A 374.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 248694 bps, or 248 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Your speed speed looks excellent you are beating your advertised speed already. That minor packet loss is nothing major just a fluke on some of the routers:

Theresadad -- First off, don't forget Sunday is "TheresaMOM's Day"! Welcome to the site and the broadband forum from the Ram!

Very, very nice speeds and you should be proud of the way you set-up your system, a pat on the back is well deserved!

Laniks response was more than likely a lucky guess, beats his standard "Just traffic answer" Ram

Rambling Ram: Theresamom's first Mom's Day, too!

Anyone:
Any idea why I couldn't ping/be pinged with no firewall, XP or otherwise, until I turned on XP's firewall and made the setting suggested in the FAQ to allow pinging?

By default XP comes with firewall on. All you did was disable it. That is the reason you couldn't be pinged before because your firewall on XP was stopping the packets coming in.
