There is no "best" router. It depends on what your needs are. If you have Verizon set-top-boxes, don't want to muck around with network settings and want support, a Verizon router is best.

If you are an Internet only subscriber, pretty much any router with gigabit ports will work. It then becomes a question of how much you want to spend, what kind of WiFi you want, and any other features that might be important to you. For example, if you're the type that wants to run DDRT, you'll need to get a DDRT supported router. If you want parental controls, another router might be better for you.

If you share a little more about what features you want in a router, if you have Verizon set-top-boxes and if you care about Verizon support, you may get more specific advise.

Good Luck.

get a mesh network and a switch. it solves all wifi dead zone issues. i bought a deco 9 from costco for like 200. added a 20 dollar gigabit swtch. my whole house has full signal wifi and gigabit ports in all rooms. with fios, it's just a awesome set up. can get 300/300 from anywhere in the house.

I'm assuming you mean DD-WRT instead of DDRT?
