Re: YouTube TV Is absolutely screwed

We ended up with a 50" DLP TV back in ~2005 that was "HDTV Ready" which we originally assumed meant it would work with the new standard but what it actually meant was it had 1 DVI port that no device would use after 2005.

Some TV's prior to the March 1, 2007 deadline had tuners but they were/are pretty uncommon displaying that for the most part they didn't include tuners until they were legally required to do so.

IIRC ASTC 1.0 broadcasts didn't start until ~2005 but I wasn't paying attention to it at the time and google isn't being helpful with "first ATSC broadcast"

My point was that they were broadcasting by 2007 and the cutoff was not until 2009. Yet most people did not know that until about six months before the cutoff. So the 1.0 broadcasts hand been going on for a couple years before the tuner boxes started to show up. Excluding the site that were "test" sites I do not think that their any or at least not many stations that have switched 3.0 on yet. So if they follow the 1.0 schedule it would be late 2022 before we start to see 3.0 tuner boxes. In other words you will see TVs with 3.0 tuners for a couple of years before you see 3.0 tuner boxes, just like 1.0.
