I just wanted to update you guys on what happened today, since the Rogers techs just left my place.
The maintenance guy who had 'fixed the situation' the other day came by with the other Rogers techs [he's a very nice guy, very sweet and humble], and he explained what he had done [there was a piece in the node that was faulty] and that was the cause of the sudden high ping I started to experience a few days ago.
However, as the maintenance guy and the techs began running tests on the nodes, we noticed an interesting pattern -- every single node in the building was experiencing the same type of packet loss I was, except at different degrees.
Node 1 & 3 had a medium frequency of packet loss [I'm on one of those nodes].
Node 4 had the low frequency of packet loss, but still experienced it.
Node 2 had the highest frequency of packet loss, which was WORSE than mine.
The over all consensus was that, while the packet loss on each node wasn't the same, I'm not the only one experiencing this issue -- EVERYONE in the building is experiencing this same issue to a certain degree...I guess I'm the only gamer in the building, lol.
So, what they are doing now is they've gone to another building that is hooked up to the same 'system' as mine is, to see if they are experiencing the same issue as my building; I am currently waiting on the Rogers tech to call / text me the results, since they are keeping me in the loop 24/7 now.
All in all, they said it's looking out to be a much larger issue that we first anticipated, and it is 100% confirmed that I am not alone with this packet loss...I guess I'm just the only one who started enough of a stink to get the ball rolling in a larger way.
