Re: [Long Island, Suffolk County] SB8200 Signal Thread Please

The SN8200 will allow me to go through the entire Self Install process via web browser.

It will never get / download the configuration file.

When on the phone with the cable support tech they say the modem isn’t supported.

The modem always downgrades to 400 Speed tier.

I tried again today with them. No dice. I returned the SB8200 as I bought it from Best Buy and it was way more money than I wanted to spend.

I was able flip and go back and forth to the UBEE and the SB8200 however never seeing the 1Gb speeds on the SB8200 as I can do on the UBEE.

So frustrating.

Very strange as there are some I think on this forum with the SB8200 and 1Gig so wonder how they got it.

Yeah, its like I believe them - lots of people shared their speeds and tests and signals from other posts I made around the internet and I believe it...

I am just not getting it done...

The BesBuy modem was more expensive than on amazon and now of course the amazon one is out of stock --- I will give it some time and try again....

but it sucks....

And your 100% sure your tier is 1gig? Maybe that's why they are pushing firmware out to SB8200 owners modems as know it's a issue. But no idea.

Best buy always tends to be higher, i weigh thungs with them like convenience of getting right away vs waiting on amazon.

yeah - the best buy purchase was a last minute need - so I paid the price for immediate need...

But truly no idea..

My profile in optimum shows 1G - the UBEE modem gives me 1Gb down and 50Mb up - so its provisioned.. its in bridge mode so I have a public IP on the Switch Port...

I dunno... Doesnt make sense really...

Sometimes get lucky and they will price match Amazon., Or little trick is to ask for online price match as if going to ship but then once they change say oh i see my store has it can you change to local pick up.
Okay, so not really downgraded like others say but just the config file for 1Gig is messed up like you said.

Didn't some also have 6 and still not get it? Maybe it's a phase roll out to test. No idea though. Either root or OSPTech might know
