Re: [TV] Fibe TV: Incorrect VOD chargesMy earlier reply disappeared...
I wish Bell would let us disable VOD altogether, but like CRTC mandate that data overages (on Mobility) must be approved, so they let the 10-year-old handset holder approve his own overage, rather than requiring account holder to do it, means it's security theatre. Bell did let us disable all Home Phone PAYG features after they were being used by mistake ("Tell me when the line is free? That sounds good." without realizing or hearing that there was a cost).
4-digit PIN is easy to guess but it would take on average 5000 tries (I think) to get it with random selection. It has to have been Bell's error since only I (and LastPass) knew the PIN; without the PIN I would have guessed accidental. |

You used to be able to disable the VOD? You could always remove the PPV channels from the list as well.
Well most people are just going to start at 0000 and work there way up. So hopefully you picked a number that doesn't start with 0 or its a quick guess.
I remember when *69 was free and the line is free one we used it to get through to the radio stations. Then it was 50 cents a use without even notice. My grandma got a huge bill from us using it, they took it all off and only charged the monthly fee for that month. |
