I recall a job I went on where the customer told me how I was going to do it.
I explained how it would not work and what would happen if I did & I wouldn't do it that way - didn't want my 'fingerprints' on it.
He fired me & found someone who would do it his way.
Later he hired me back to do re do it my way - my prediction panned out.
He referred me to his neighbors and worked out well for me in long run
