Hmm actually you've given me 1 clue maybe. I can't seem to access or find the modem's control panel. From the web it says DCM475 should be 192.168.100.1 but when I go there I just get a blank page in my browser and the error message "The Connection Was Reset." Does that mean anything?

edit: I've also already done a factory reset on the modem this weekend by pressing in the little recessed button on the back of it for 20 seconds.

Could be Shaw blocking access to the modem interface because they can do that. Have you ever been able to log in before?
