The lady was super nice and asked why i didnt lie and said price sucks, been a customer forever with no love.  She confirms, many youve been a customer since 2003, lets see if there is something i can do. I told her "not to sound wrong but anything short of new customer pricing (75for GB) would simply not cut it.<br><br>15 mins later im getting GB for 73 per month, no truck roll needed, Upload has already taken affect but DL seems to still be stuck at 400. But the autopay discount was not in the bill two months in a row despite calling the billing department. Called retention and hopefully it's added properly.<br><br>In a past install I returned the Ubee modem but did not get the modem fee removed 3 months in a row. Had to call billing to get the credit everytime.]]></description>

But no bill online..won't know until it comes..maybe they added  tv, voice, and cellular for all I know.<br>I signed on the techs tablet which had no pricing.<br>Took some convincing  to convince him my 8200 was ok..like he had never seen one before.  ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[albertham posted : Had them come to my house, tech didn't even come in. He set me up with the SB8200 I had shown him. I am able to pull 940/50. Only problem was they shoved the $7.99 in-home wiring protection plan on me without my consent (they told me it was included when I called to fix an appointment issue), and my first bill they charged me for the Altice Gateway. I called and also did a chat to settle those two issues, hope next month's bill is correct.]]></description>

Just call retention (and not technical support) and tell them if they could reprovision your modem to 1gig. In my case, it seems that while they made the switch, it was still provisioned for 400mbps. One reboot later pushed from their side, and I went to 1gig.]]></description>

I’ve never been charged for it and don’t use it though. I suspect the default modem config or speed when no Internet plan is tied to a modem is 25/5.]]></description>

No disconnects or random reboots, just cruising along at a solid 25 Mbps.<br><br>Phone support is playing the "OK, I fixed it. Let me reboot your modem" game.  On-site tech support is inclined to believe the problem has to be upstream.  The road crews haven't gotten back to me yet, but they have a second visit to inspect my tap and segment this weekend.<br><br>And this is in a residence that had working 200+ Mbps broadband before we moved in. 🤷]]></description>

And now I've spent the last two weeks working with phone support, tech visits, and pole crews as they each take a stab at what they think the problem is.<br><br>Also, FYI, if you are a new (or "returning new") customer signing up for Gigabit, you cannot create a new Optimum ID or PIN using the getstarted portal without the UBEE.  Your "home network" will be linked to that UBEE modem, and the portal to create a new account won't work with anything else.<br><br>edit:spelling.]]></description>
