Re: Campus DAS Upgrade

Do you know if AT&T is building out and Band 14 Support on the DAS?

I'll try to find out Tim. The antenna looks to cover the whole 700Mhz range so it probably depends on radio they are using. I'll try and get some close ups of AT&T's radio sectors to see which models they are using.

I talked to a couple of the Ericsson guys today. They said that T-mobile radio is 5G. I suspect when it's different. They did say VZW doesn't have 5G yet on this setup. The antennas are ready but it seems the radios are not yet.

So work has started this week and I should have some good pictures of the gear and changes on a roof top site.

It is quite and upgrade in power supply. Going from a single phase 120v 60amp leg off a of 120/208 sub panel to a transformer off of a 277/480 sub panel and 3 phase.

The small Gen set hookup is the original. The larger one and transfer switches are all new.

Sorry for the lighting. The deck has sodium vapor lights and the yellow color messes up the white balance.

I'm surprised those lights haven't been upgraded to LED.

What's with the 3ph-delta into a 3ph-wye box? (delta has no neutral) Nice to see an IEC plug box. (assuming they'll put an IEC receptacle in there.) Circuit of the Americas is the only place I've ever seen one in person -- because of F1. (international teams aren't going to have a box of NEMA plugs.)

The building opened in 2007 and these are the original parking deck lighting fixtures. Parking doesn't get any revenue from the State budget for parking lots and decks. So revenue comes from people that park there. So they have been slower about LED lighting in decks built before LED was in use. I'm on the lower end of the salary range add still pay about $600 for parking. Park and Ride lots are now $150/yr.

I'll try and ask they guys what the plan is. I think they are going off of a 277/480v panel in the deck that is fed from our Entrance Mechanical Room by the building transformer. That sub-panel is less loaded than the current 120/208 off of it that feeds the DAS currently. A new transformer is being set for the DAS to drop it to 120/208.

This is a new shutoff just before the transform that will go below it feeding the battery cabinet.
