AT&T West → Re: High pings and packet loss at night only!

Guy...you are making me nervous. I am in San Jose (95134) and just got my DSL last week. So far I have been consistently getting 1210/135 throughout the day but this thing is scaring me now.

Mine's fine too (on RT in 95126), in fact, it's been rock solid and the last time I had anything less than perfect was March 10th (knock on wood!).

Im on a rt in the 95111 area (about 1mile from fairgrounds)my connection has been rock steady at 1500/136 since last July. This started happening in the last week or so, and only at night. I have talked to the 2nd tier and ran some ping and tracerts last night and emaild them to him. I recieved a email stating he sent it to NOC(?) Im not sure who they are, but they are now looking in to it.

hi, im in 95135 up in the evergreens. This started happening like 2 months ago. I play games such as quake2 cs etc. I "NEED" my low ping. Im also less than a mile away from the central office on san felipe. IF anyone can tell me what i can do to make this all better that would be great. my speed in the mornings and afternoons are 1200+/107+ and at night its 300/107. DRAMATIC CHANGE.
forsay i ping a server which i play games on. i usually get 20 ping, and at night i get a ping of 180 +. SomeBody please help me thanks.

I wouldnt be afraid. From what I have heard pbell has been upgrading dslams lately. Not sure what the upgrades entails just what a tech told me last week. Just keep track of it if it does happen track it with line tests and speed tests and save them and time how long it lasts. The longest for me was 5 hours 11p-6a.
