I felt the same way also. Loved how all the seemingly independent episodes ended up being all connected at the end.

I still don't see the point of the zombie episode though. :uhh:

The mid-credit scene in the last episode $fontbg was a nice way to end the season. It seems like Carter and Steve are destined to end up together. $Fontbg

Yea, totally! It's cool how the zombies still retained some of their intelligence but became complete assholes.

There's also Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness as well. I don't think it was that great but it's a thing!

Also, they may be turning it into a movie after all (no doubt inspired by the What If episode):

The zombie episode did pique my interest enough to grab all 3 Marvel Zombie omnibuses (omnibi?) on Kindle. Made it through the first one already, they are a lot of fun! I was worried they'd be too bleak but so far they're more zany than serious. Really enjoying them.

There was some fun stuff I liked in that episode, but Scott Lang's nonstop one liners felt out of place in the setting and the ending wasn't an ending at all so yeah I would have loved to have seen a longer, more serious version of it. I guess they're trying to keep from going TOO dark,$fontbg although that Dr. Strange episode ended up being dark as hell. $Fontbg

Seeing Captain Carter bash people with that shield was just as awesome as watching Steve Rogers doing it, but somehow more fun.
I like the direction they went with the branching storyline. And they still got Steve involved, so that was a plus.
The episode looked great, and I generally don't like a lot of the animation styles out there.

I wish the episode was longer than 30 minutes, but they managed to squeeze a lot into that run time.
When it was over, I was left thinking "this would have made a great live-action movie."
Going to watch this one again, and I look forward to future episodes.

The best ones and only ones worth reading in my opinion were from the late 80's and early 90's, before the comics industry became over saturated with crap writing in the mid 90's.

"What If" were stories from alternate realities where things played out differently, ie. "What if Ben Parker didn't die?" or "What if Flash Thompson became Spider-Man?" or "What if Daredevil became The Punisher?" or "What if the X-Men had died on their first mission?"

I understand why they're releasing it now because it ties into Loki's story in the multiverse.

Marvel Comics Presents allowed them to explore certain plot lines a bit more indepth without bogging down a normal series run. For example, I think the first 10 or show issues dealt with Wolverines Weapon X development.

In my opinion the 80's What If comics were the best as the focus was more on the story than churning out an issue with a hook. Some of the 90's issues were great too.

From the 90's there were a few standout issues, like "What If the X-Men Died on their First Mission?". What made it fun was that if you'd also read the original X-Men comic where they didn't die, it's a variation of the same story and Hank McCoy creates a second X-Men team that he leads.
