Here in Orange County, CA, home of the very first digital cable system for Cox, in '97, (and I've been a customer about that long!) things are nowhere near as nice. |

Indeed, after 4 years of fighting with them I finally had another ISP become available. Good riddance I say. |

Oh, yes...
Currently am not trying to get issues like this (but not so bad) handled the past 6mo... but now I'm dealing with the "cancel the legacy 300/30mbit customers and get them off their D3.0" issue.
Got two more days till the deadline, thought I had a deal today, but two lies about the deal from Loyalty and finding out the only modem they offer I cant use, (frikin Panoramic everthing box, won't work with my external router/AP system that I've spent time and $$ on) made me walk out of the Cox store. So it's buy a new one, throw away my stuff or the highway. Luckily, one of the lies from Loyalty was I HAD to rent a Pano box from them to get the good deal on Gigablast....
Sad, that that's what we call "lucky" with Cox... |

Well, that's what I get for using Cox support people to tell me about how their stuff works and what you can and can't do. F#%k me!!!!
OF COURSE when the expressly tell me you can't do anything to the box, you're locked out, that means that you CAN put it in a bridge mode so you can do the routing. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN....
Still thinking I might take advantage of a $30 off the $149 normal price for a C1100 modem at Costco. (check on website, $30 off till March 7, all you 300/30 cancel kids)
Would be a great punchline if it turns out the Cox Store guy was wrong, and I wouldn't get that price without renting the Pano box after all? Gonna go bang my head against a wall for a while.... see ya all later. |
