There's really no point in having gig unless you have a 2.5g nic or need the upload speed. As given that Extreme Pro can now do basically 1gig download with the 20% provision. |

I subscribed to Gig Speed as the new promotion back in July was gonna be close to what our old 2 year Contract price was previously, of course i ended up having to add unlimited data so price went up a little bit, but still manageable
Not sure i'll keep Gig though when our 2 year contract is up in August 2022, i'd be fine with Extreme Pro or even Extreme 400 actually, but don't think can downgrade during contract, so stays where at for now |

Still nothing on mid-split or increased upstream, literally the main thing people are clamoring on since lockdowns began over a year ago... |

Not even a tiny bit of increased upload. Stinks. |

I only have it because the cost was worth it compared to the other plans. |

You just need a modem and router that can do 802.3ad aggregation. I have that setup now for my T25 with my Asus router and get a 2Gb interface between them. I can pull 1.2Gb to a client over wifi. And I don’t care about the uploads. I got gigabit for the download bandwidth. The speed and the headroom with multiple people and devices. I don’t upload much. 40Mbps is fast enough for a few pics or docs and voice/video. |

I prefer wired. I have a 2.5 Gb ethernet-USB adapter and a Qnap 2.5 Gb 5-port switch. |

The irony, Optimum online gave us 45mb/s on their highest tier upload, I guess this is to help keep demand out because theres too much of a mix on how many node splits they got.
Good luck getting 1.2G with congestion, FiOS users know its still docsis crap. but thats funny they're pushing xb6 to lower tiers first.
I wanna know, why the HELL do they still have the horrendous XB3? that thing was a nightmare troubleshooting, took 10 minutes for a total reboot. |

In my area, I get at least 1150 on a consistent basis. Most of the times I'll get 1200. That's on 1000 provisioning.
So I guess I'm at least one person with good luck--and I expect faster than that with the increase. |

It would be nice to see speed increases in the Northeast division |

they did increase gigabit speeds in northeast from 980mbit to almost 1.5gb/s
but yes they need to increase the other tiers as well
blast250 should goto 400mbit. extreme400 to 600mbit extreme pro to 800mbit then leave 1gig tier alone for now. |

I don't understand why they need to offer so many speed plans. 4 is most you need.
Offer 100/15 400/20 800/25 1.2GB/35 |

How did you find out about this? I'm in the Big South division. Wonder if they will also increase speeds. |

The Central "division" is composed following 4 "regions:" Greater Chicago Region: IL, Northwest IN and Southwest MI Heartland Region: IN, MI, AR, KY Big South Region: SC, GA, AL, MS, LA, TN Florida Region: FL So yes, you should see those increased speeds in your market. |

Well there’s a reason for that... and we will all be here to point it out every time BTW - There was this Ars Technica item about Comcast upload speeds just yesterday: A COMCAST UPLOAD-SPEED MYSTERY — Comcast hides upload speeds deep inside its infuriating ordering system Comcast upload speeds of 3 to 35Mbps are hidden until last page of checkout.By Jon Brodkin, Ars Technica - March 3, 2021 » arstechnica.com/tech-pol ··· -system/And in that article is this section: quote: No plan to raise upload speeds
Comcast did confirm to us that the upload speeds listed on CableTV.com are accurate. As for whether Comcast will increase those upload speeds any time soon, the company told us it has no plans to do so at the moment. "Over the years, we have consistently increased both upstream and downstream speeds," Comcast said. "We offer a wide range of Internet service tiers with upstream speeds up to 2 Gig and will continue to evaluate usage, but [we have] nothing to announce about increases to our upstream speeds at this time." ...
