Re: Power switch question

The pricing's great - $7 each. But if you need more than one, you can buy a 3-pack for only $25.

Yes, that's more creative pricing by Amazon. $7 each so $7x3= $21 or you can get a 3 pack for $25! Makes a lot of sense doesn't it?

That is like my grandfather's store, hot dogs 20¢ each or 4 for a dollar. He sold a lot more dogs for the dollar price.

Does Amazon or the vendor set prices? I supposed it to be the vendor.

Retailers count on that "save in bulk" instinct of customers.

In some places it is now required for retailers to also display the "per unit" pricing to make it easier for consumers to make price comparisons (you may need a magnifying glass at times to see it).

I see many examples of the bulk package being more expensive then the individual unit at the grocery stores.

People are dumb

Years ago, A&W launched a 1/3 pound burger to compete against McDonald's quarter pounder...

It didn't sell well, as a frightening number of people thought the quarter pound patty was larger and therefore a better value.

Yes, consumers in general are very stupid, they see a quantity of an item like this or a bigger box and immediately think "it's cheaper" when in many cases it's not. I personally wish that every state would have a law requiring the unit price on everything that's sold!

That and enact some creative penalties for anyone who tries to pull this stuff.

Bring back the stocks and leave people work gloves and rotten fruit to throw.
