Re: AirPort, Web Sharing, IP Address ???? Help

When I enter my IP address in my browser I am asked for a name and password to the Router? Underneath "Password" it says "Realm: Linksys". If I type "admin" into the password field I get the router info. I want to go past that and just get the web page on my system. I've also tried to use Fetch and access files that way and I can't find a way in. Where am I going wrong? What have I not set up correctly?
Thanks

Not quite sure what you mean by 'just get the web page on my system'...the 192.168.1.1 addy should bring you to the setup page; from there, you can click on any of the tabs to see/change settings...

I want to be able to use Web Sharing and also be able to have someone ftp to a designated folder on my hard drive. OSX (like OS9.1+) allows you to do this. I've been testing this using the IP that www.facultyof1000.com/whatsmyip.asp gives me and I get a 401 error when I enter my login and password or I get the Linky's setup, like you had a screenshot of, (that I don't want) when I enter "admin" as the password.

I have a web page on my system that I want to be able to access via Explorer.

How do I do this?

I hope that this clears up any confusion.

Thanks

You need to open ports for ftp/web in the router config...

for the linky click on the advanced tab then click fowarding

You can try port triggering
»INFO: Port Triggering - What is it?

Or port fowarding
»www.linksys.com/tech_hel ··· ced.html

Or for mirc dcc
»getting mirc to dcc
