Re: Altice Fiber Details, Pricing, and Availability

For what it's worth, it does appear that Altice/Optimum installed fiber-optic cable on the utility pole in front of my house over one year ago. I originally mistook it for Verizon FIOS equipment.

Both Altice and Verizon have been deploying in Tenafly. The Leroy St. address above says Fios is coming in a few weeks.

Sounds like Verizon just need to pull fiber and place the terminal boxes on the poles, work the cabinets, and activate at CO.

My address is not far from there. Fios has been available a stone's throw from here in three directions for the past year or so. That's when the Verizon glacier stopped moving again. I would jump from Optimum at the first opportunity.

I just found it I won't be able to get fiber for a long time as all the underground cables in my development aren't in conduit. Learned this when the gas company came to repair my gas line and nicked the buried coax.

I thought thought that all of Ledgewood has FIOS?

Nope, some parts are served by the Netcong CO and will probably never get FIOS

Cablevision has had a permit open to "install a fiber optic cabinet" near me in Ledgewood for almost 2 years now, but no visible progress has been made so far

That is a ROLT that will serve the community around it. The last stop before getting into fiber that goes to hub or directly to principal headend if close enough.

Yup, to make matters worse the development across from me is served out of Succasunna and will be getting FIOS as part of the copper retirement in that CO, while we're stuck with Netcong lol.

My development has around 100 homes, but we have buried utilities so I'm not holding my breath for Altice to run fiber here anytime soon

How close is FiOS to your development? Has the board/HOA reached out to Verizon and asked them to bring FiOS in? That is what we needed to do where I lived. It was a long process but once I reached out things began to move along.

I agree with you re:Altice as I don’t think they’re doing any communities with underground wiring at this time.

There is FIOS around the corner from me but I spoke with someone who works at Version the other week and he said it will be a long time before we get it due to the buried utilities and small development of 30 houses.

My section of Ledgewood is serviced by the CO on Rt10 in Succasunna. I know this because of the issues I've had with one of my landlines and it was a bad card at the CO in the switch.
