Hughesnet mobile alternatives? I have a mobilized Gen 4 that's been in service since 2016. Since I was out of work during the past year I suspended service. Called and had it turned back on and get the 22.3.24 code. The VAR that I used is telling me that hughes no longer allows mobility with Gen 4 and I need to buy new equipment, and a new business plan that naturally costs a lot more. Talk about a kick in the nuts.
Can't afford it. Are there any cheaper alternatives for mobilized satellite internet? I go to a lot of places where 4g phone service is not available. If not I'm just going to do without until I'm in a better financial state. |

I don't think there are any other mobile players... Starlink is supposed to be stationary, but I have heard rumors that some people have been able to go mobile with it... I don't think Exede offers mobile solutions... Who was your VAR?
Also, yes, Gen4 plans have been retired for quite some time, as has the HT1100/1000 terminal.
One thing that comes to mind... Was your mobile system an HN9000 system? I know for some time the HN9000 was used as the Gen4 mobile platform... However, the satellite that services the HN9000 is actively being retired from service from what I have gathered. |
