Optimum FlexAbility for Internet

So I will be moving to a Suddenlink/Altice area this month and noticed that Altice has launched this "Optimum FlexAbility" marketing in both areas. (My experiance so far with Suddenlink can be found here > »[Rant] Optimum FlexAbility... more like Optimum Confusion)

The TL:DR version is both Suddenlink & Optimum's website promotes the pricing as a "no offer" and "not bundled" offer. The FAQs state this (also they OOL & SL's FAQs are identical) and no where during the ordering flow (even in the mountain of fine print) does it say the monthly pricing is a 12 month promotional offer.

The only thing that is mentioned as a promotion is the HBO Max offer. However when speaking to reps over the phone about my order (in order to set up Auto-Pay & Paperless Billing and to lock in the install date) each state things that the website does not and have no clue what Optimum FlexAbility is. One said I was looking at the Optimum website and I should look at the Suddenlink website (they both say Optimum FlexAbility.)

So I'm just curious if there are new customers going through this same thing? I hate paying over $100 for Internet but I will when I have no choice in the matter to get what I want. I just hate the customer service reps I've spoken to so far seem to be clueless.

Probably most people on this forum are existing Optimum customers, so would not have been eligible to sign up for this new plan.

I can only tell you that when my wife and I look at the Optimum commercials on TV for this new plan, we look at each other and start laughing, because we have so much distrust and suspicion of anything that comes out of Optimum's mouth.

Maybe if you take it, at worst after a year something new will be on the horizon:

1) Altice CEO sees three spirits one night, and decides to improve the company.

2) Altice is sold.

3) Frontier offers something better.

4) Other alternatives are available such as 5G services from one of the cellular companies, or else Starlink.

Good luck!

Thanks lol

I have to take it to get decent Internet in this area sadly. Altice's CEO will see three spirits before Frontier does anything to the aging copper wiring in this area. Frontier has already been sued by the state and their most recent lawsuit is from the FTC. Starlink will most likely be a no-go due to the trees. My only other hope is the 5G services from AT&T, Verizon or T-Mo.

I'll post a review on how this goes after the service is installed with regular updates in regards to this whole "Optimum FlexAbility" scheme they are marketing now. If I actually get that $200 Visa Reward Card from them I'm gonna use that to get my own modem & router and give them their lease gateway back lol.

"FlexAbility" appears to be Altice's marketing term for "Mix and Match" like Verizon does for Fios. The prices quoted are the "everyday price" with all fees rolled in. No contracts or time limited promotional pricing.

Ah that makes sense based on both Optimum & Suddenlink's websites. Given Altice's stock has taken a hit I can see why they are trying to stay completive with Fios. I'm guessing with their SL territories this was a great way to further expand the "Optimum" brand outside of mobile.

I wish the CSRs were more knowledgeable and didn't give conflicting information that goes against their own website :/

I must admit if FiOS was available in my area I would get their wireless service + FiOS Internet lol.
