Re: [Other] Is future-nine down (again)? |
|
| |
You can't even connect to the site using current browsers, it's not safe.
That's a big red flag.
-----
The domain future-nine.com (including the hyphen) expires in January, maybe it will go to Cloud Nine at that time. |
|
| |
I think the domain once expired even while there was a captain at the helm. |
|
| |
That's not uncommon, has happened to big corporations.
-----
But in January, if the domain does not get renewed, it will be proof of death.
If it does get renewed, either there is still some carbon life form involved, or else it is on autozombie payment. |

I'd forgotten that one. I remember he forgot to pay the DNS bill three separate times: » Re: [Future9] Future9 DownThat expires in September and it's now October so it looks like we're safe from that this year. |

Hahaha. Could have been it. As it was multiple accounts that I'm aware of. And my line is finally live again today. I'll check the other people's accounts. |

I believe that the site uses self-signed certificates, no? Which throws red flags in the browsers. Browsers then let users decide to absorb the risk for a particular web site, unless one is accessing the site from a secured location. I agree, rather economical behavior for a site that's charging customers, self-signed certificates, to state it pleasantly. |

The issue with the cert is the TLS version is less than 1.2 which is a no-no now. So a self-signed is bad to begin with but this is laziness. |

I'd call it more than laziness. ----- So: Either Nitzan is still in charge or he is not. 1) If he is, how bizarre for a guy working for an Internet security company to have his own website in an improper security status. 2) If there are new people in charge---then why on earth would they have their website be turning away and discouraging potential new customers? Suicidal. NEITHER makes any sense, this is beyond bizarre. |

So a self-signed is bad to begin with but this is laziness. If i remember correctly when I had to make the upgrade to 1.2 and above, the OS on the server had to be upgraded for the support of it. Which meant a full on migration to a new box. Considerably more effort than just logging in and paying a bill and letting things run on autopilot. |

Didn't Nitzan OWN Future Nine? |
|
| |
said by josephf:Didn't Nitzan OWN Future Nine? Yes. But by definition, an owner can sell. ----- The Future Nine incorporated in Texas is a [different] company, they do Oil and Gas. Probably everybody in Texas does Oil and Gas. Nitzan's Future Nine is incorporated in Delaware, the state file number is 4485649. If you want current details, you can look up here (use that File Number) but it will cost 20 bucks. I'm not that curious. » icis.corp.delaware.gov/e ··· rch.aspxIn any event even a full report may not tell current owner. |

Yup. Exactly. |

At least Sunrocket provided clarity... Weird thing is, I was trying to contact them to sign up, the very day that they closed down. |
