I don't condone lawbreaking in general, but it's hard to find sympathy for these companies that are trying so hard to make it extremely expensive and inconvenient to watch what we love. If more people torrent and put pressure on them to stop doing this, we will all benefit.
Sorry, but I had to reply (rant) here. As Mick once said, "You can't always get what you want".
I understand, and in many ways agree that it has become a very splintered, and therefore "expensive to get everything" streaming market, but...
in the past we "watched what we love" - from a VERY limited amount of choices - with a couple of minutes of ads every 15 minutes. Now we have THOUSANDS of viewing choices, but there are costs associated with them in dollars and cents. I don't have the dream home I would love to have, although the one I DO have is fine. I don't have a personal chef prepare my meals, but I eat good anyway. My point is this: I "LOVE" driving Porsche's and Ferrari's, but I simply cannot afford to own one; it IS that simple. That doesn't excuse me going and stealing one for a joy ride whenever I like - I drive a very old car that serves my needs. I paid for it fair and square.
I don't pretend I'm perfect and never broke a law, but obeying the law - and far more importantly, just doing the right thing because it's the right thing - is an extremely important value! Just look around today's world to see constant proof. If you choose to protest, give FEWER companies LESS of your money and accept that means some reduction in your choices and satisfaction until they change their ways.
I apologize for my honesty if it offends, but - I believe in and GREATLY support protest! Theft is NOT a protest, it's just theft...
The simple solution would be if we all got paid like Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk - but since they have ALL the money and we get the loose change, it is what it is UNTIL we do what is required to make our society more equitable, and then we can focus on climate change, homelessness, and other important problems - streaming prices will no longer be an issue.
