Not only can one find themselves blocked due to too many connections by some other subscribers activity, but if a web site decides that the traffic appears to be malicious, or from a robot, it can either block, or put up a captcha (or equivalent) even if your parents were not the cause.  Which can be very annoying (or block things like purchasing of event tickets, as most of those ticket sellers attempt to block multiple open connections to prevent abuse).<br><br>If it is a no-cost option, opting out of CG-NAT today means not having to deal with the (potential) problems tomorrow (or end up with an up-charge in the future when the ISP decides too many people have opted out, and they are now going to charge for giving one a public IP).]]></description>

For an extra $5 a month they turned CG-NAT off.<br><br>Also, Pop's cable co got bought out by Vyve Broadband.  On their site they're showing bandwidth caps now.  I asked if Pops was grandfathered or stuck under the new limits.<br><br>Thankfully, the new limits are for new customers.  Or if you change plans.]]></description>

Sadly, one can still find some ISPs and companies resisting IPv6 (in favor of more CG-NAT for ISPs), even with the problems it causes their users.]]></description>

Depending who your fiber provider is they may offer their own cellular backup solution, I know AT&T does that.]]></description>

Around here for addresses that had AT&T fiber available they were not offering 50, but were offering 400 for $44.99 for 24 months and 940 for $104.99 for 24.  As of a few weeks ago, they have either gone off their rocker or utterly given up trying to compete and are showing 100 for $49.99/12 months, 400 for $69.99/12 months, and 940 for $109.99/12 months for addresses with AT&T fiber available.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[nocannothave posted : I switched to fiber last week, but would like to keep Spectrum as a backup. It's been rock solid for 15 years, just with a slower upload speed compared to fiber.<br><br>Two phone calls to CSRs have told me the lowest tier available is 100mb* at $60/mo, which is double what I'd like to pay for a backup connection.<br><br>CSR one was in sales and confirmed 100mb was the slowest. CSR two was in retention and tried to get me a 50mb connection, but could not.<br><br>Is it actually possible to switch to 50mb?]]></description>
