A small but growing number have 1000/500 FTTH, while other areas with FTTH are stuck on the same 200/10, 400/20, 940/35 commonly marketed tiers. Some have ELP, most don't. There are a handful of other tiers out their not every one in Charter can get.]]></description>

I bought it years ago.<br></p></div>Except for a very few areas Spectrum hasn't provided combo router/modems in years... Since they started offering their own branded equipment. All of those are stand alone modems. Their routers are only provided if you pay extra for them.]]></description>

They began deploying it in 2016, and in 2017 they began offering the 1000/500 speed tier.<br><br>TDC (owner of Yousee) is 1.2 GHz in its entire footprint, so FDX (with amplifiers) could make the most sense for them to pursue in a few years. They may end up being a first mover again (the competition is fierce, so they cannot afford standing still for too long). :-)]]></description>

Netgear just had the CM3050V certified in the last CableLabs certification wave completed, CW138, which makes it the 12th high-split capable modem certified for the American market. <description><![CDATA[cypherstream posted : If I were armchair quarterbacking this, I’d push out configuration to set moca to channel D7 (1450 MHz), far enough away from 1218 MHz.  I’d only consider high split if the plant was 1218 MHz in the forward.  1 GHz plants I’d do 85 MHz return.  I’m not sure we would be ready to loose so much forward with legacy and DTA’s out there.  End game is full IPTV and if the node service groups are small, then I could see giving away more downstream for upstream.<br><br>Holy grail is FTTH but there’s so much coax out there and to pull permits and dig and all that, I still think it’s technically possible to run a good system with HFC.  It will never be as good as fiber all the way, but it will be competitive and keep most people satisfied.]]></description>

That doesn't mean the hardware isn't there, and it can't be upgraded in the future should it be certified for high-split later on.<br><br>It wouldn't make much sense for the cable companies to require customers to swap out their existing 3.1 modems for a high-split variant if their current modem already has the necessary hardware.<br><br>From a press release when both modems were announced in 2015:<br><br>"Arris said the MSO-focused model, the Touchstone CM8200, can support up to 5 Gbps downstream and up to 2 Gbps upstream, enabled through switchable filters supporting a widened upstream of up to 204 MHz, and 1.2 GHz in the downstream."<br><br>"The SURFboard SB8200 has the same technical capabilities of the CM8200, but is tagged for retail distribution."<br><br>Sounds like literally the only difference is that one is for sale to ISPs to provide to customers, and the other is a retail model. The hardware capabilities are identical.]]></description>

Once the 100M to 300M upstream comes out then everyone will be dancing for joy.  Give it a few years to roll out.  I run dual ISP's so that is why I downgraded my Xfinity.
