In the summer we should be generating enough electricity that we will build up credit so next winter we won't pay anything for electricity other than the connect charge, but we will be making loan payments for the purchase and installation of the solar panels.

That's wonderful! She looks so good for 100, I wouldn't have guessed a day past 80 or so if you showed me that picture otherwise.

Got a ride to ER, skipped the waiting room and got wheeled into The Big Room. Name, Dob, reason I was there ad nausium. Got some tests.
Blood clots in my leg. Going upstairs to a room. Covid test.
Positive? Really? I go to the dump, beer store (masked) and grocery (masked) once a week. I'm vaxed. NOT a Plague Rat! Asymptomatic.
Spent the night in an ER room (Group W bench) while they got a room on the quarantine floor for me. Friday had a 'procedure' on leg clots. Sprung on Saturday. Ride home in a private ambulance Thanks for Romney-Care in MA! Friend has done some dump, beer, grocery runs for me.

Here I am with my Q flag. I'd rather have it on my starboard spreader waiting to clear customs but here I am.

Got my booster there a couple er three weeks ago.
When I was there they had like 6 pens for people to share to fill out the paperwork - crazy

I am getting close to retiring & still have over a 100 real good quality gel pens I give my customers so I scratched off my advertising on a couple dozen & ran em back down to the VA

Curious if they are still in use
The 'official' ones were generic red ones & mine are thin & black high quality pens

About once a year I have to reorder a box of 60 blue Bic pens for customers to use and even take with them if they want for like $6. I'm usually a "taxpayer" type but for this especially for vets I'll allow the $6 (but no more than $10! :p ).

Thank you! Even though LED is more efficient, I stick to the older miniature bulbs, I just like the look of them. The tree is actually 8.5 feet, it looks bigger in person. Yes, the Mylar just blows in the breeze, it doesn't hang nicely. If I found heavy foil tinsel that was lead free, which looked the same, I wouldn't be opposed to it. I haven't found any in stores.

I wasn't going to bother with the tree this year, but I thought that my daughter would enjoy seeing it. I pain-painstakingly take off each piece of tinsel and save it for future years. The tinsel is nice and thick. Maybe, just maybe, I'll hang lights out on the porch. I never want to be bothered, but it would look nice.

...reminds me of my childhood. Set up the trains under the tree... if a piece of that tinsel bridged the track, there WERE sparks...

...but please tell me that with that lead tinsel, that there aren't pets or kids that can get to it...

My daughter is 7, she knows better.

Side note, there weren't any significant published cases of lead poisoning from tree tinsel, but it was banned at the same time as lead paint in the US out of principal.

This is the old family tree, dad gave it to me. He always had a train set under it, but left the bottom row of branches off for it. I don't have a train set up, but that is something that I plan to get in the future as time allows.

I had a day like that painting my place many years ago.

I painted my dining room, my living room, my foyer and hallway to my bedroom--walls and ceilings (8' in the dining room and foyer/hall and 12' in the living room)! At one point in the late afternoon, I sat down and a few minutes later I realized I couldn't get out of the chair because I could barely move I was so tired. It took me at least another 10 minues before I tried again...

Wonderful sense of satisfaction though...'-}}}

We will have most of it painted before he leaves. Trying to get the most doors trim etc. done before he leaves. It's been a week but seems like a year.

We're having a crazy warm spell this weekend. Friday was in the mid 50's, and it felt like a heatwave compared to the normal temps this time of year. Saturday is going to be in the mid 60's! Unfortunately, rain all day.

It almost seems like a... miracle. Sort of like when Dorothy from Kansas opened the door of her black & white existence onto the color of OZ...

Back in WV posted : Woke up to the nosebleed from hell. Had my 2 blood pressure pills and no good. Had a beer another 30 minutes then stopped. So i did my 2 chairs and cut up the boxes. Got a Blu-ray Player and watched Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase while working. Love the chairs wish i could sit in them and less unpacking and painting. But things are moving along.
