New infections have been increasing for more than two weeks and there has not been the subsequent increase in ICU admissions that one would expect based on that increase. You're waiting for something that would have already happened if there was reason for alarm.

And there was that Dr Juni prediction about grand case count explosion in Toronto 3 days after Kingston. Not seeing anything like that so far.

He's the same guy who said 45,000 in ICU or something back in September. I'll just leave it at that.

A lot of careers are going to be ended up COVID, and now it's about squeezing out the last drop before that happens.

He is the person that has been crying wolf louder than the modelling data for the last few waves.

That Dr Issac Bogooch that CP24 talks to daily is more realistic and doesn't scare people as much.

They're all doom and gloom. Juni is the one who started the "Less severe is a myth" misinformation campaign. It's not a myth. It's scientifically proven, but these guys really don't care about any of that anymore.

Because they have a license to practice medicine/public health, not practice it irresponsibly. Would an oncologist muse about weekly chemotherapy to a patient with Stage 1 basal cell which is absolutely treated for remission outcomes with just excision?

I understand this virus transmits rapidly but Israel told us boosters are needed after 7 months.....before Omicron. Go with that first as a public health response measure and stop with speculation on TV and Twitter; you're a fucking Doctor, not a political talk show host on Cable.

You forget that public health MOH's are somewhat muzzled by the politicians. They have to walk a fine line.

1. They're not in control of variant severity
2. They're not in control of creating any treatments or even new vaccines

Nothing they do will make a difference with respect to mildness or harshness of variant. Can they blunt the pandemic impact and hospitalizations....for a short time, yes. Nothing more than that.

Authority and control should be used cautiously and judiciously. Otherwise, in a free society, nobody will pay attention if your authority has become a joke. I'm a Project Manager and I've only managed software development teams but this is true in any group setting.

And the authorities have done a varieties of things since early 2020. Some sounded good but didn't went far enough and quick enough. Other measures were nothing short of knee-jerks and looks once you look into the details. Modellings from science table have cried wolf way too many times, how can they make people believe them now unless there are literally piles of dead and dying all over the street!!!

We cannot blame DF for not ordering major rolling back towards lockdown. People could be cheering for that in Kingston city limit but probably cry foul in "not as hart hit so far" areas. That is why the local PHUs have to do it.
