Re: HH4k bypass? is it possible?

So no extra points of failure at all. Since you'd have the same amount of points of failure.

If you introduce another router behind the HH4000 then in my opinion you have another source of failure. You don't have to agree with that but I see the HH4000 as an extra piece of hardware in that setup vs the same setup with a SFP ONT.

If you are using the HH4000 as your router then I agree with you. Your point of failure is a Sagemcom device though so that should count as like at least 3 points of failure...:-P

Well considering I never once said anything about adding another router. So no extra points of failure.

Do you not know what thread you're in?

The people that want to bypass the HH4K are going to be using their own router behind it already. So the quest is to get rid of the extra component: the HH4K.

People who are happy with the HH4K are not going to be bypassing it.

Yes so HH4000 has the same amount of failure points as a 3rd party router + sfp module, both have 3. HH4000 + sfp module + power is 3. Router + power + sfp module is also 3.

That's the point. Trying to get back to 3 components instead of 5. The difference being that you now have a 3 component versatile 3rd party router instead of a 3 component basic HH4K.

Incidentally, my router has dual power supplies so that mitigates a point of failure.

The whole thing was there aren't any extra points of failure.

After doing the bypass. When running with a 3rd party router there is more.

Yep I'm not the one that said there was more points of failure using the Hh4000 when there is not.

There isn't when you're not not using a third party router. But that's off topic in this thread. So what are you doing here other than trolling?
