Re: pfSense on Bell Fibe - What address to ping in monitor

Well, I am pinging 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) and I had some down time on Satuday afternoon. Maybe I just have crap service. My Fibe TV which is delivered to my firestick and chromecast certainly gives me a poor picture for sports. Basketball seems to be the worst when it comes to pixelation and buffering on 1080p.

red6 , which firestick do you have? I had to upgrade to the 4K one as the one before that which only did 1080p didn't have enough processing power/ram to run ESPN all correctly. It would buffer or shudder and not be smooth. Most other apps were fine. But problem went away with no other changes when I changed to the 4k model.

Kids have the same issues with those cheap fire tables. They are all under-powered and Amazon puts so much of their addware on them that they never run well.

That is really interesting. I have the recent non 4K. Amazon just replaced it under warranty. This new one is no better. I could fry an egg on it. Seems underpowered and undercooled. I can say the same for the Fire tablet. And the Chromecast units have been a disaster with Bell Fibe TV too. (This is the "Bell Fibe Alt TV" service. No PVR)

Wait for one the Amazon sales and get the 4k when they go cheap. I was really surprised it was the stick but I know ESPN app worked better. The old one is sitting in a drawer. I got a 2nd 4k one for our bedroom and both work fine.

BTW, here is a example of power supplies that use those connectors.
