nickespo posted : Following up on all this, Verizon came on Saturday morning to do the install. The whole thing took about four hours: new ONT, replacement of the power boxes, and provisioning the DVR and three satellites. Joe was awesome.

20 minutes after he left, we lost internet, tv and phone. Two hours with phone tech support (on my cell), and they were able to get the internet running, but not tv or phone -- so they scheduled a return visit for Sunday (between 11 and 3).

Shortly after I hung up, we lost internet for good.

Anyway, they came back today at 3:00pm, and got everything working again. Among the problems, but not the only one, was that the power wire was disconnected in the ONT. It's possible that it spontaneously disconnected in the middle of a software download, since much of the software was corrupted and had to be reloaded.

I'm hoping, maybe, to watch the Olympics tonight.

nickespo posted : I appreciate the phone number. The person there may have been the first ACTUALLY HELPFUL Verizon phone rep I've spoken too.

I gave up the grandfathered Ultimate and ended up with 300MB internet, TV One with Most + HBO/Cinemax, 4 boxes, and home phone for $239 (including taxes).

bsangs posted : They don't offer Ultimate TV HD anymore, which means you'll have to pay for HBO and Cinemax now. The highest tier now is called Fios Most TV and still includes SHO, TMC, Starz, Epix and NFL Red Zone. That's $105 (in my area of NJ).

Now, there are people in this forum that still have the old Ultimate TV HD tier even after their contract ran out, but - and they'll correct me if I'm wrong - I don't think they ever upgraded to Fios One. Doing that might trigger the end of that package.

I think you're gonna need to speak with somebody though. Try 844-837-2262. They're quite knowledgeable at that number. At least that's been the case for me. Good luck.

Oh, I pay $207 a month with GB internet, Fios Most TV, Premium DVR and four boxes (two Fios One, two Fios One Minis).

pdroth posted : I ported out my phone to Google Voice and now have the same # with no monthly cost.
pdroth posted : I'm on LI also.

My bill is $178 or so with FIOS One, 200MB internet, includes DVR, and I have 2 set top boxes. Don't have phone service. I pay extra for Cinemax/HBO $25 (included in the $178 price)

Hope that helps. Try trimming down the # of boxes if you can get away with it.
STB Upgrade: is any of this true?

nickespo posted : My current, old, grandfathered plan:
-- DVR, plus some STBs and DAs
-- FiOS Ultimate TV HD, w/ free HBO + Cinemas (I'm on Long Island, NY)

I was interested in upgrading to FiOS One.

The website widget says "Same Price," yet when I click on it my estimated monthly cost (at the top of the page) goes from $207 to $248, plus taxes, plus "With this selection, your TV package will no longer include HBO and Cinemax."

So I got into the online CSR chat. "James" says my price won't change, and I'll keep HBO and Cinemax. I told him that's not what the website says. At which point the chat malfunctioned.

Which is actually correct?

I don't yet want to actually speak to a CSR on the phone, since historically that ends with me in a white-hot rage.
