They need to stop being silly and just use the new router across all tiers. Hopefully they're just unloading their Eero stock and will do so eventually... , all of the other tiers having to use a bunch of devices if they have phone service is a mess and a waste of money on equipment. Frontier's equipment setups have traditionally been extremely messy compared to other ISPs, and it tended to calm down during the Arris era, even though it was a bit more divided than it should've been. Looks like we're entering another era of setup clunkiness lol. I don't think clunky setups give a good first impression to new customers, while other ISPs have greatly simplified their setup.
Took me years to eventually see all of those AT&T 2Wire gateways slowly get replaced(since unlike AT&T, Frontier did not actively replace old wireless-G equipment), that overlapped everyone and caused terrible 2.4 speeds. Now looks like more interference is on the horizon with the eeros that overlap everyone as well. The Sagemcom is no saint either, but I hope to see it take over on all new installs.
Side note, the photos for that router/the extenders are available now on the FCC site.
Also Frontier is doing some sketchy comparison advertising on their site lol.
They're claiming "Ultrafast Wi-Fi 6E system with total
home coverage and Wi-Fi guarantee" with Comcast with a "X" instead of checkmark. Meanwhile Comcast released their better than Frontier's 6E gateway today. They tried to add extra things to it to make Comcast not qualify for a check lol. It's all part of the ISP game I guess though.
I just think it's kind of odd that they included voice too lol. It seems like they just added it just because to add another 'benefit.' I don't mind the attempt of reviving home phone, but seems like a waste of valuable phone numbers if they're not going to use it. (I wonder if it comes with the extra fees and such associated with home phone, or did they simplify the billing?). The thing the person above me posted suggested no estimated fees/taxes, so we'll see I guess.
