I stuck a photo diode on my scope. All you see is basically what you're saying, light with a tiny bit of 120HZ ripple on top. As if you were looking at the output of a full wave rectifier and cap.
What's the response time of your photo diode when the illumination is removed?
Our bathroom has two types of LED lights. One of them doesn't flicker at all. The other, I cannot perceive a flicker, but when I pee I can see droplets in the stream, like if it was illuminated with a strobe light.
