Re: [Lighting] Help me ID this light bulb

Not having much to do I stuck a photo diode on my scope. All you see is basically what you're saying, light with a tiny bit of 120HZ ripple on top. As if you were looking at the output of a full wave rectifier and cap.

What's the response time of your photo diode when the illumination is removed?

Our bathroom has two types of LED lights. One of them doesn't flicker at all. The other, I cannot perceive a flicker, but when I pee I can see droplets in the stream, like if it was illuminated with a strobe light.

Typically in the picoseconds to nanoseconds range.

You know when you get old like me, crazy things happen with the bladder and prostate but I haven't experienced that one.

I just picked the diode out of a box of parts I used once and I don't know the number off hand. It is slower than one might expect since it has a large die and I'm using it in the voltaic mode BUT I can see 30KHz and more confirmed with an LED and pulse generator.
