theboz1419 posted : Lol, I had a similar incident.

Just after New Years and just recovered from Covid, my battery died in my Ford Explorer. I bought a brand new Premium Battery and the next day I went to get dinner for the wife and kids and I noticed something in the driveway as I backed up. I didn't think tp much of it as soon after my battery light came on and I thought it was related to my new battery. I tried to reset the battery information, which didn't work. The next morning I had to go back to work and again the battery light came on and this time the screen said it needed to shut down the stereo to conserve the battery as it was not charging, then my car died about two blocks from home and it was pouring down rain.

Walked home and was able to use my wife's car to get the battery charged. But, when I walked home I realized what I saw in the driveway was a dead Rat. I finally realized what happened and I called a tow truck and a shop to take a look at it.

I told them what I found, and I thought maybe it had chewed the wiring, they told me a lady brought her car in last week and had a dead squirrel in the engine from the alternator belt.

A few minutes later, I found out that I had the same thing with my alternator belt. The rat was around the belt when I started the car and it got caught in it and it made the belt come off.. Luckily no other damage.

That Rat was the first rodent I have seen around our house and hopefully the last.
