so you are saying service calls are resulting in speed caps being changed? please cite.

Optimum changes the rules to fit their own agenda. they also have different rules for everyone. The #1 rule for optimum is: there are no set rules.
A change in service can change the upload speed but we don't know what else can trigger it.

I would honestly do everything in your power to troubleshoot yourself before calling them.

Connect directly to modem. Connect directly to outside incoming line. If you have good speed outside and slow speed from modem then if you have connections or splits, work your way back. Maybe you need better splitters, or better coax.

Try swapping modem at optimum store.
Better yet... get your own modem if the issue is with the modem. I got my own modem in Aug 2020 and it did not trigger an upload speed downgrade.

I would exhause all options before asking them to fix the issue. If you don't have their protection plan ($8/month) it will be $80 for them to walk in the door.

Cite one instance where they have changed speed caps due to a tech support case or service call. Thanks.

They can't. They did not respond when you last asked them to provide support. I wonder if it is because such support does not exist.

a customer will contact Alshit to complain about poor internet service, a tech will be dispatched for an appointment at a later time and the customer service representative will very likely offer the customer a "better" service tier at a cheaper price for a limited time as an "apology" for all of the troubles.
