[FiberOptic] FOX222 WAN credentials

I just upgraded to the 2gig service and they changed my ONT, I think the guy said it is a FOX222. They gave me one of those new Sagemcom routers too. The connection works fine with the Sagemcom router in place, but when I try to switch out the router with a ASUS router I can't seem to get it to work. The ASUS router gives some sort of error about "WAN DHCP not working" and the internet LED is blinking RED. I tried releasing the IP address but it didn't help. I tried cloning the MAC address of the Sagemcom router but that didn't seem to help. I tried shutting off power to everything (including ONT) for 1 hour, but it didn't help. When I log into the admin interface of the Sagemcom, under the WAN tab, I see some login credentials:

login: cpe_bootstrap@frontier.com
password: xxxxxxxxxxx

The password is not visible to me, and I can't copy/paste it either.
What is that stuff?
Do I need to type this into the ASUS router somewhere?
I never had to mess with anything like that on my old GPON ONT.

There are no WAN credentials so that's odd. I would try re-releasing the IP address, immediately unplugging the Sagemcom, and plug the ASUS back in. If that doesn't work, you will have to contact Frontier.

Are you from a CA market that wasn't part of the CA, TX, FL sale? A.K.A. where you one of Frontier's pre-existing CA towns? I believe those FTTH deployments used PPPoE, and apparently they still do if true. You'd need to put this in the Asus' settings. Otherwise, maybe you didn't really end up releasing the Sagemcom IP.

With my GPON ONT, I replaced my Frontier router with a store bought router and it worked fine, there wasn't any PPPoE nonsense. I don't *think* they'd be using it with their XPON customers when they never used it in my area with their GPON customers. But I don't know.

I've found it helps if you power down the ONT for a bit and then power it back up, followed by the router once the ONT is started up.

I'm having the same issue with my ASUS AX11000 router. I cannot get it to pull an IP so no internet. Still waiting on a solution.

I use the Asus AX11000 if you have a fox222 ONT and your Ethernet only make sure you on the 10gig port on the ont and plugged into the 2.5 port on the Asus. If your still getting no connection open a browser and make sure you have the use 2.5ghz port as primary wan toggled it’s under wan then goto dual wan and in the drop box got 2.5. Then I would power down your ont and router and then power back on the ont and then the Asus router you should be good after that. Also make sure the AX11000 is on current firmware
