Re: RCN Cable, anyone?First thing is to check if the cable modem has an internet connection. I don't know which brand of modem you have (I got an RCA DCM215), but on mine, when I didn't have a net connection, the lights just blink. You can try to push the reset button on the modem to get your net connection back.
If the lights are solid, indicating a good connection, but you're still having problems, then what IP info shows up when you do a winipcfg? When did it last work? |

I'll have to ask her what modem brand she has.
As for the rest, she has a solid green light. RCN said they could ping her machine. In winipcfg, it shows 0.0.0.0 as her IP address. When she clicks on details, it defaults to her PPPoE adapter. Then, she picks her Ethernet card from the drop-down list and it shows an IP address (dynamic).
It last worked on January 7th. |
