anon posted : After moving my dsl to a new address SBC sent me a speedstream 5360 and I began having the same disconnect problem. They replaced it with another identical modem which did the same for two days before the ethernet port died on it. I went back to my old alcatel 1000 (had to change vpi from 8 to 0 ) and works 100% now.

SurfTheSky posted : Ive always had trouble with speedstream modems. Something makes me think that SBC recycles F*d up speedstream modems to other customers. I had myne replaced a year and a half ago for problems like that, and they gave me an Alcatel Speedtouch home. It works like a dream.
--
There's no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you.
