What is the deal with Broward county?

I've never been to Broward county so I have no personal first hand knowledge about it. All I know is what I read about it in the news and it seems I am always reading about it! If I were to judge by the news only I would have to ask if there is some bizarre hallucinogenic class drug in the drinking water! Here is just a partial sample!

1. We all know that the voters have a tough time figuring out any ballot.

2. The people who count the ballots and run the precincts have a tough time every election.

3. Jose Padilla the suspected terrorist was always getting into scrapes there.

4. The people who allegedly were plotting to assassinate Jeb Bush were mostly in that county.

Really strange.

I can tell you what the problem w/ Broward County, and it can be summed into two words: 55 MPH. Iwas out there back in January of this year, and I thought Tulsa was bad. Almost every major highway has 55 MPH speed limits, and the freeways bump you up to a WHOLE WHOPPING 60 MPH! Increase the speed limits, and you just might get a more intelligent populace. WAIT - I take that back! With the speed limits 65-70 in Tulsa, people in the left lane still do 40.

Back to the topic on hand, though. I live in an affluent lakeside neighborhood. I drive a Lexus. My neighbors drive high-priced vehicles as well. But, SWHell can't get me DSL, won't let a CLEC in to do so, and Charter Communications can't even get me MTV or Comedy Central much less Digital Cable or cable internet. All my neighbors are SOL as well. But my coworker whose house is literally worth $25,000 can get cable internet! I don't think race is the issue, even though I am Asian - I just think that SWHell and Paul Allen have their head stuck up their @$$es and letting marketing departments make stupid decisions like rollout their service where noone wants it, but where everyone wants it, rollout is deader than a man w/ cement shoes in a lake.

As for the Jesse Jackson thing, if you want to get rid of his influence get the Nation of Islam into more prominence. After all, it was Malcolm X who said, "You put the Democrats first, and the Democrats put you last."
