Pop Monopoly

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that the only stations that will survive, if any, would have to have a big audience. Only the most popular music, aka the worst music, would be played. The same crap they play on all radio stations and mtv. Underground music will be the ones to suffer because the audience will not be big enough. And they are the ones who need the net most, as it gives them exposure. Not everyone has college or independent radio near them. So pop will dominate, but at least the trance labels won't miss out on any royalties.;) Nobody will know they exist.

You're right. Congress needs to correct this.

Our local college radio webcast went off the air too. They owe so much in back fees now that the station itself may go off the air. In the fall they are going to have to reassess whether they have enough to stay alive after decades.

DEATH to the RIAA!!!!!

I still buy cd's, but everything i buy is something i've either downloaded first or heard on internet radio(mostly small stations that play electronic music).
I'm sure alot of people are like me, and the RIAA is basically killing the music industry. I hope all the user's of audiogalaxy switch over to a non-centralized p2p(like winMX) because it'll hard for them to truly shut them down.
Anywayz...

Do these CARP rates only apply to stations in US or everywhere??????

Hell most station already have to pay for bandwidth they use. I was so happy when they have no comercials (unlike normal radio station). ANd i bearly watch tv because comercials are almost always on when i am!
