I agree!! I am sick of hearing from the hackers/crackers on the DSLreports forums that think copying MS office, breaking into corporate networks and stealing bandwidth is OK.

Breaking the law is breaking the law. No matter what excuse you have for your actions.

Does that mean the FBI should be brought in to take care of someone stealing bandwidth? We are talking bandwidth here not a federal bank. It would have been much better if the cable company just turned off their connection for violating terms of service and bring the local authorities in if there is an actual case to bear. The FBI shouldn't be horsing around with these kinds of violations. It's an asinine waste of resources.

No crime was committed. Only a TOS/AUP violation. Regulated cable television law cannot be applied to cable internet service because it's unregulated.

I have to say I agree on this point by SRFireside, with this stipulation, what is the rest of the story? There has to be more to this than the story is letting on.

In any case, bringing in the FBI seems a little extreme.
