Exactly. They have access to the same records we do in the COE WTN database. To call this a conspiracy is laughable. They just didn't feel like supporting your neighbourhood.
Read this again please. And again. And again. The competitive dsl, for whatever reasons have chosen not to service your grandfathers neighbourhood. Why don't you try other phone numbers from the same exact area to see if they qualify?

Ya, c... my point is... His grampa already has Bell HSE (Sympatico DSL)and its saying that other site say that is not avalible... and he alreay has DSL... then means hes close enough to the CO to get it....so....thus.... bell HAS NOT keeped the datbase up to date... the reocords, if u call and ISP, WILL differ from wut u get on the site... like i said... Bell, like other Corps. want ur money, and they dont like to share... the only prob. is, they dont excpect ppl to ask ne questions... they think, like with other Corps., ppl will site quielty, and not argue it... untill they stumble apon a site smthin like this... and find out wuts really happenin... then their screwed....

as 4 the guy that i originaly posted a responce too.... wut DSL provider r u going wit? how is it? (when u get it working)... and if bell said that they r going to activate the lines, and didnt... id be on the phone like every 5min complanin... they said they would, and didnt... so call em and b*tch... 'till they do it :)

Did u check to make shure that there were 4 wires running into the phone jack? cuz from wut i understand about dsl, it uses the 2 spesific wires.. colours... black and yellow, i do belive... im my house, sisley for honda (a car dealer) own the place, and use it for a office before we moved in, we have smthin like 40-50 lines comming in, and we are equiped for IDSN-DSL and probly OC, if i wanted it... and as far as i know, the lines are still active...

as for Bell not equiping ur lines... or the data base saying that ur too far or smthin... they wouldnt do that, now would they???lol they, as with all other big corps want they money, and dont want other ppl to have it... if u have DSL now, and the sites say NO u cant get it, then its obviously BS!!!

I think the reasons that not every HSE competitor is available everywhere that HSE is, has to do with technical reasons and logistics rather than deception or underhanded tactics on Bell's part.

says not available ? I've had HSE for like 2 years, and just started looking at other providers now...and I find
90% of ISP web sites forms are saying I'm not available
for DSL. So I called AEI this morning and they checked,
supposedly using 'bell nexxia's' database, and sure enough
it brought me up as not available. Yet when I went to Bells
HSE availablity form, (which the AEI guy said used the
same system - guess not!) it said it WAS available. The AEI guy was pissed wondering if Bells database was costing him business.
Since private ISPS use Bells line cards in the CO etc; you
would think that if you have Sympatico HSE you could use another provider as long as they did business in your area.
