Need a cordless phone that wont interfere with RG

Our cordless 2.4ghz Sony phone system causes my RG1000 Orinico wireless network to go down every time we take or make a call. Anyone know what cordless phones won't interfere? Do I need to stay clear of 2.4ghz? Or are there some phones that won't interfere?

I find it like the old days when I was using a phone line since I can't get online when I'm on the phone again!!

Thank in advance!

I'm not sure if this will work or not, but change the channel it operates on.

I think you need to steer clear since they operate on the same frequency. Try a 900ghks DSS phone.

I have a Panasonic Gigarange Elite and I have no problem's with them next to each other. How close is your cordless base station to the access point? Try moving it or changing the the access point channel. If your cordless is not a spread spectrum model try changing it's channel if possible.

I have an RG-1100 used with Orinoco Gold Cards, and I successfully use a Siemens 2.4GHz 2400-series phone system with it.

The Siemens is a Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum type (FHSS) which hops over roughly 1/2 of the unlicensed 2.4 GHz band. By setting the Orinoco AP to use the high numbered channel (11, settable through the AP Manager), I completely avoid interference between the two. The frequency of the Siemens phone is not user settable.

Prior to adjusting the Orinoco channel I got some occasional noise and clicks on the phone and some dropped packets and reduced throughput on the LAN, although no disconnects.

I have a Panasonic GigaRange as well. Switching channels may not do it. Every time you put the phone into the cradle/charger it changes to another code/freq. So changing the wireless AP channel probably won't fix the problem. I just gave up and traded a friend a nice Giga Panasonic for a crappy 900MHZ phone.

Oh Well. Internet Nice Phone.
